The Northern Line S.C was re-formed in 1999, with many original members from clubs like the Sheffield Scorpions and Steel City SC, meeting at Staniforth arms.
Most of the members were originaly Mods, but as the scene moved on, as did certain people, their style changed and so the club became a mixed bag of Mods, Skinheads and Scooter Boys.
The name originated from one of our meeting places, the Charles Street underground, which had a London underground sign and ‘Northern Line’ lettering underneath. Unlike today, almost all the members were single lads with one or two girlfriends thrown in, whereas today’s membership is more men with wives and/or girlfriends. There are even women with scooters a rare thing back in the eighties!
The Northern line of today is made up of a mixture of members of all ages. An easy going loose club, with no subs.
We meet every Wednesday night from 8.00pm at the Wentworth Arms pub, near the Arena. Feel free to pop down.
